Nexus2050: five speakers not to be missed

New annual event in Luxembourg, focused on technologies and ecology to help achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, Nexus2050 offers three days of conferences, meetings and networking, focused on artificial intelligence, sustainability, cybersecurity and fintech.

The first edition will also highlight Luxembourg’s technological and innovation ecosystem. Activities include an exhibition area, a symposium, and international meetings. The last day is dedicated to strategic visits for students.

Eryka Lehr, chief of staff in global affairs (Google)

Eryka Lehr, a visionary at the forefront of technological innovation and ethics, brings valuable expertise in AI strategies and responsible leadership. Educated at Stanford GSB and having a varied career at companies including PwC and PayPal, she played a crucial role in applying AI ethical principles at Google. At the same time, she works to improve women’s health as a partner at Kidron, a venture capital fund. Having influenced global AI standards at ISO between 2020 and 2022, Eryka will discuss the future challenges and opportunities of emerging technologies and their ethical dimension.

David Shrier, futurist, innovation catalyst and VC (Visionary Future LLC)

David Shrier is a futurist and innovation catalyst, expert in artificial intelligence, fintech, digital identity, cybersecurity and collaborative innovation. Professor of Practice at Imperial College Business School, London, and visiting fellow at MIT, David previously taught at Oxford and MIT Sloan, where he also led several initiatives in connection science and new ventures.

Engaged on various committees and councils, he has influenced significant policies including the EU AI Act, and has advised entities including the European Parliament, UK HMRC and financial institutions on topics including blockchain and AI. At Nexus2050, David will share his expertise by leading dialogues on the future of technology and responsible innovation in the financial and technology industries.

Maximilian Tayenthal, founder, co-CEO and COO (N26)

Maximilian Tayenthal is participating in Nexus2050 to share his experience in revolutionizing the banking industry through N26, which he co-created to make banking more accessible across the world. In his capacity as co-CEO and COO, he drove major innovations in financial services, with a focus on more intuitive and user-centric banking. Trained in economics and law in Vienna, and holder of the CFA charter, he provides a complete vision of the evolution of the financial sector. Through blisce, he has invested in companies like Spotify and Too Good To Go, with a particular focus on social and environmental impact. With the creation of INFIITE, he tackles educational inequalities, helping students from modest backgrounds access renowned universities. His commitment is also visible through his role in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
